Avalon

I am seeing spouts advocating public employees, particularly police officers, live in the community where they work. That is a nice idea, but it is not required by law, and it may not be the least bit practical. I can't imagine a young man in his early-to-mid-20s being able to buy a house in Avalon or Stone Harbor. Look at the real estate transactions published in the Herald. A young man, or woman, with a young family can't live in a one-bedroom motel conversion for long. It is impossible for young people of modest incomes to buy a house in some shore towns unless they inherit it.
