I recently read that a current elected official from Middle Township is now also double-dipping and working for the county with a full-time position. Cape May County has a high unemployment rate and full-time, year-round jobs are hard to come by. One would think that at the county level, with the director being a true leader on this, one would hire outside the political circles and select a qualified person from the under- or unemployment ranks. That would speak volumes and make headlines across the state. Instead, Cape May County is no different than Hudson County. Sad but true.
