In 1984, New Jersey started a spay/neuter program which, along with other initiatives, has significantly reduced the number of dogs killed in N.J. animal "shelters." Yet, in 2014, about 5,000 dogs did not get out of N.J. "shelters" alive. We do not need to import dogs from the Carolinas. We need to export the spay/neuter concept to them. Adopt a New Jersey dog. Send donations to Carolina spay/neuter clinics or "shelters," specifically for spay/neuter. Help the Carolina's become as responsible as states like New Jersey and New Hampshire. Write to Carolina's elected officials.
