To the lady who commented on my spout, the military does get 50% after 20 years, and I am comparing the two jobs. In fact, some military jobs are much easier than civilian public service. You go home every day after work, have 30 days paid leave, are off most weekends and live in very nice housing with your family. Lots of people never get deployed, and a large portion who do get deployed don't go to areas of conflict. The folks who pick up our trash here, maintain our streets and provide our safety do a pretty good job for the most part, and live in an increasingly expensive economy.
