The Upper Twp. spouter finally showed his true self when he said, "Once again, sand that was pumped on the beach to protect the homes of the wealthy washed away. It's time to stop wasting tax dollars on beach replenishment. I have no sympathy for residents of barrier islands." That sounds like jealousy to me. There are lots of people on the islands who are not rich. And whether he likes it or not, the continued tourist use of those islands provides jobs, directly or indirectly for almost everyone who lives in this county. The tourists go away, so do jobs, hospitals, large retailers, etc.
