The pro gun-violence gun enthusiasts say that if only students were armed, all would be safe. Sure, I can see where 18-year-olds armed with guns would have the training and discipline to react to a situation with no collateral damage. And sure, no shootings would occur at drunken frat parties, football tailgaters or at the local bar at 2 a.m. And nothing like a gun in your dorm room when you’re depressed over failing grades, or a broken romance, to end that painful situation. Sure, more guns on campus. Yep, that’s the answer! If only those children at Sandy Hook Elementary were armed.
