As a volunteer at the county animal shelter I want to stress to all residents how important it is to have a proper collar and identification on dogs and cats. It is absolutely sickening how many dogs come into the shelter without proper ID. There is no excuse for it. The stress that pets go through being dropped off, sometimes in the middle of the night, is terrible let alone the stress of an overcrowded shelter. By not being a responsible pet owner, you put your pet at risk and you overburden the shelter. Take responsibility and license your dogs with a proper ID collar to protect your pet.
