The question should be raised is a person with mental illness allowed to buy, own and use a firearm? That’s it. Simple, right? So do the medication and doctor care work? The electronic health care records can identify and put a block on a firearm purchase? Or that all guns have to be confiscated so the mentally impaired can’t get to them? Or is it the health care system that states everyone can be controlled by drugs, rather than be place in a mental health institute to be evaluated is the problem?
