A man was walking his dog on the beach Aug. 7 and did not even have a leash with him. The dog was enjoying the wonder of the beach, along with everyone else. Given that the majority of dog bites are first time bites for a dog, everyone on the beach was at risk, especially the children who are the right size for a face bite. In addition, this thoughtless behavior jeopardizes the use of the beach for other dogs. If you are enjoying the beach with your dog, keep it under your control and pick up after him or her so that others may enjoy it after you.
