What a mess that construction company caused on the Garden State Parkway Wednesday night, Aug. 5. The whole situation could have been handled a lot better. Where were the police to direct the merge after the toll booth? Why didn't they do something to avoid the bottleneck at the tollbooth? Why did they still charge the $1.50 toll? This shows why a bridge on Route 9 is necessary. Being stuck in traffic for hours after a hard days work is terrible but then to see the construction workers standing there drinking coffee and talking, that is just really the icing on the cake.
