It is ludicrous for residents to think that service would diminish in police consolidation here. Taxes have increased and will continue to rise. To not even consider a professional feasibility study from a reliable consulting firm is not responsible government. There are several such firms in the state and there is even grant money and incentives for communities sharing services. Most residents don't even realize that we rely on other towns for EMT, dispatch, etc. Funding such a small department with a highly paid chief and a revolving door of officers does not make sense.
