Probably the single most irritant for local residents is the parking problems they face each Summer. Since most visitors avoid the beach area meters like the plague, preferring to walk three or four blocks to park, maybe we should trade parking meters for beach fees to alleviate this problem. This way the locals get to park, and the town does not lose revenue.
