Memorial Day weekend: Stone Harbor was, once again, bustling with property owners, visitors and their dogs. They are in yards, often barking, on the sidewalk, in the business district and on the beach. We observed dogs running free on the beach, in the dunes and chasing after beachgoers throughout the weekend. Dogs don't pay taxes or buy beach tags. Borough officials and dog owners need to recognize that not everyone considers a dog their best friend.
