In response to the spouter who thinks it is a conflict of interest for someone to work two jobs in the same town: It's called working hard. Being a full-time code enforcement officer does not preclude someone from also maintaining an active real estate broker license, nor does being a police officer mean that you cannot sell real estate. In fact, I'd have added confidence in buying a home from someone who used to be a police officer in that town, or someone who knows the problem areas/properties and where to avoid buying.
