I think a SH spouter was bragging when he said about 10 SH volunteer firefighters live in town. If that's true, that's terrible. Volunteers are called at all hours of the day and are expected to respond. If only 10 live in the first due, that nowhere near enough, and the town's folks should be rightly concerned. That in no way provides adequate manpower in short enough time to meet NFPA 1721 standards. That's just another reason why they should merge with Avalon. He also mentions that fewer police live in town, but that is irrelevant; they are paid employees who work fixed shifts.
