A NCM spouter's comments about healthcare and the ACA are misleading. According to the Urban Institute, as a result of the ACA, there has been a net increase of 10 million in the number of people with health insurance, and the spouter's claim that insurance premiums have "skyrocketed" is patently false. Premiums for those who buy their own private insurance will go up or down depending on individual circumstances. Most Americans have employer-sponsored health insurance; for those insured, premiums have increased, but more slowly than they did under George W. Bush.
