To a Middle Township spouter: Education is not a one-person show. When teachers do not have the support of the administrators, parents or students, how on earth can they effect change? You say that teachers should not “give up” on students who blow off homework, back talk the teacher, and text in class, but it is you who has “given up” on students because you refuse to have them accept personal responsibility for their behavior. That is mollycoddling at its worst and produces adults of the same caliber. Sometimes, students need the reality check of an 'F' grade to straighten up and fly right.
