I am surprised none of the towns in Cape May County use auxiliary police, like other towns in N.J. Auxiliary police are volunteers from the community who are trained and fully recognized as police officers in the state of N.J. With the declining population all over Cape May County and all the events and influx of tourists. it would make sense to supplement the police force with these additional officers without impacting taxes. Haddonfield has wonderful auxiliary police who work events, accidents, burglaries, direct traffic and many other things.
