It is time for N.J. and the federal government to stop wasting our taxes on beach replenishment, only to have the sand wash away repeatedly. Taxpayers and the government should not be obligated to protect the homes of the wealthy who voluntarily choose to live by the ocean. Let those who live near the beach take their chances. They know the risks, but expect the taxpayers to protect them. Beach replenishment is a total waste of our tax dollars.
