I read a spout about a firefighting shift in Wildwood who shoveled out someone. Did they offer it to everyone? That's the difference. Not to mention, God forbid one of them gets a back injury doing a non-job related activity. While it sounds harsh, running a city isn't about favoritism. It's about fairness. It also must be lead by having leaders who know when and how to say no.
