Considering how high property taxes are, it's about time that school sports and clubs are no longer funded through property taxes. The parents of students who play school sports should pay for sports and sport-related expenses. Paid coaches, bus fuel, paying bus drivers, etc., all adds up to a lot of money. Taxpayers have an obligation to pay for education of students, but not to pay for sports. Middle Township and all local districts spend a fortune on sports at the expense of academics. Students have a right to an education, but there is no "right" to play sports.
