Regarding the homeless in CMC, Sabrina Hand, Human Services Advisory Council Coordinator, says 55 percent of homeless in CMC are males aged 18-29. These guys are in the prime of life and most likely to be able-bodied, so there has to be more to the story, like drug abuse history. Previous generations went through the Great Depression, WWII and Korea with no welfare safety net. Maybe these 18 to 29-year-olds today should take more responsibility for themselves.
