The spout by a student praising his coach is nice, but the bigger issue here is the amount of attention and money spent on school sports, failing to give credit to students who achieve academically, who are motivated to make the most of their education. Whole sections of some papers deal with student athletes, but what recognition do student academic achievers ever get?
