I read about a home that the city wants to demolish because the owners are having a hard time with the bank for a home that is uninhabitable due to Superstorm Sandy. The home clearly does not pose any danger of falling on anyone. The city should let the owners work it out with the bank and the city should stay out of it regardless, even if allowed by the state law. It's even more pathetic the city is still charging $8,900 in property taxes though the 1,000 square foot home has been uninhabitable for over two years.
