The obvious choice for the police station has been overlooked. We need consolidation, not duplication. They failed to disclose the simple way to maintain the exceptional response time, while drastically cutting costs. We should pursue shared services with Avalon, while maintaining a substation in Stone Harbor to preserve response times. Our 911 calls already go to Avalon, why not our jail cells, breath test machine, detectives, locker rooms, etc.?
Moderator's Note: About a dozen spouts regarding the police station were submitted. Five were published; four against and one for.
