In an article in the Nov. 12 Herald, Van Drew's Economic Dev. Task Force is quoted as being of the opinion that impediments to economic improvement include "too many layers of state bureaucracy and the Workforce Investment Board often wastes funds by training workers for jobs that no longer exist." Has anyone, at any level of government, moved to disband these boards? They complain of bureaucracy, yet won't get rid of something they know doesn't work. Instead, they'll keep the boards and find a new way to spend money on something else that won't work. The map tells us we are at a disadvantage.
