I don't live in Cape May, but I bet the assertion that Cape May stores keep getting "robbed" is not true. The spouter said, "Cape May stores keep getting robbed, mostly because people think it's a small, safe town." I bet they are talking about shoplifting or other theft. Robbery is a crime involving force or threat of force, and I just can't picture that happening frequently in Cape May. Yes, shoplifting is a problem, but it happens everywhere. People steal, especially from stores because we have lost the moral compass from our society. Please, let's not alarm people with tales of robberies.
