People continue to risk living near the ocean because they know taxpayers will pay to protect their home or replace it if destroyed. The government needs to stop rewarding people for foolishly living near the ocean by providing beach replenishment and national flood insurance. It is long overdue that we let those that choose to live near the ocean to do so at their own risk and expense. I don't care if every barrier island home washes into the ocean. Barrier islands were never meant to be built on.
