The spouter that claimed teachers make $60,000 a year and only work six hours a day is just plain wrong. My wife has been teaching for 10 years and makes about $40,000. As for her hours, she easily puts in 10 to 12 a day. That's over her required hours, but that's what it takes to complete all the grading, planning and administrative duties. She's not collecting a penny of overtime; no such thing for teachers. She loves her work. No complaints from her, but I find it highly discouraging that some have a lack of appreciation for good teachers.
