A spouter is absolutely correct that the schools have an enormous role to play in detecting adult child abuse, and this, of course, results from their daily contact with the children, many of whom closely identify with their teacher. By statute, teachers and doctors who suspect any abuse must report it to child services, or face charges. Interesting how some are passing abuse off as "southern discipline."
