Cops and firemen should not be making $60-90,000 a year, plus another $15-20,000 in benefits in seasonal communities. It is unsustainable. Call volumes based on peaks that occur during three months of the year do not warrant these high salaries. Those in similar positions in much larger cities do not earn such high incomes. Why is this so? Changes are needed to lower our taxes now! Options exist. They are just consistently repelled by the unions who are family and friends of the municipal leadership.
