Watching the funeral of that Pa. trooper gunned down by a sniper, among fellow policemen from throughout America, was a very large contingent of police and Royal Mounties who came to the Mass from our neighbor, Canada. I also remember several years ago, during the horrendous blizzards when we were without power for almost two weeks, dozens of Canadian utility trucks came, with men who climbed frozen utility polls in zero weather, and a spouter questions if Canada has our backs just because they offered sanctuary to Vietnam protesters?
