It's funny how some people think public workers have it so good. When the economy was booming, no one envied police, teachers or firefighters. I didn't see people lining up to be teachers, police or firefighters then. If these jobs are so great, as the anti-public employee spouters claim, why didn't those people pursue them too? They had the same chance to. Public employee salaries and "benefits" are not excessive. It's just that the private sector screws over their workers. Unions are the key to fair salaries and benefits.
