I do not understand the spouts suggesting public workers are "special" and we are lucky to have them. They are performing a job just like workers in the private sector, only with many more benefits. The jobs performed by all workers are needed. That is the crux of the problem; public workers have the mentality of entitlement; they are special and needed and therefore, deserve exorbitant benefits. Public workers need to stop bargaining with that mentality, especially in light of the revenue losses NJ faces from the demise of Atlantic City.
