Opponents to President Obama's Common Core education scheme have largely been conservatives and libertarians who fear Washington elites are attempting to establish a one-size-fits-all bureaucracy to take over America's schools. Recently, however, teachers' unions have joined the opposition. The Chicago teachers' union has expressed similar concerns to warnings issued by New York's teachers. National education standards being foisted on millions of our children would be costly and harmful, not efficient and beneficial.
