To the 'Grandpa Siren' advocate: You mention there are "many reasons" for fire sirens to exist today. Then you go on to cite the "many reasons" but every one of them is "to alert" something or someone. That's one reason. Not many. Secondly, we don't just have fire sirens, do we? We have fire, weather and "Hey, it's noon!" sirens. Completely outdated! Do the towns that have chosen to solely use modern systems over antiquated sirens endanger their populace by doing so? Can you cite statistics that say sirens make it safer for the town?
