You think that students graduate knowing nothing now, wait until you see what happens when tenure is eliminated. Grade inflation will get even worse. In today's world, helicopter parents refuse to hold their children accountable for goofing off. When students get a low grade because of not learning the required skills, they and their parents, with the full cooperation of sycophant administrators, are quick to try to bully the teacher into giving an undeserved grade. Tenure is the only protection against such pressure. If we get rid of that, the quality of education will go down, not up.
