There are no "doughboys" left alive. There are no personal reminders of the events that took place 100 years ago this summer, although the U.S. did not officially enter WWI until 1917. We must look back on the past and use that knowledge to carefully evaluate our plans for the future. That was the war to "make the world safe for democracy."
