I was sad to hear the North Wildwood Beach patrol chief has cancelled the annual lifeguard formal as this was one of the highlights of the summer when I guarded in the 80's and 90's. The question remains as to what is the t-shirt money being used for by the chief now? Has he given the guards or the city administrator a complete accounting of the shirts sold and the money raised? The accounting was opaque back in the 80's and 90's and it sounds like it still is today, as the lifeguards deserve better.
