If you want free parking, you can do what our neighbor did. Take down the 'Loading Zone' sign and put a homemade, private parking sign in the street to reserve your own city parking spot. When residents of our condo wanted on-street parking, we had to buy a $150 permit each. He laughs and says he will say the sign blew down in the winter; we saw him unbolt it. That loading zone is temporary delivery parking for our condo and any nearby businesses, not one person's private spot.
