The condition of 10th Street beach has been deplorable this year. This weekend it went to a whole new level. The porta-potties were overflowing by the end of Saturday, Aug. 9 and at least one was closed down Aug. 10. The others were hardly usable. Trash was strewn everywhere as the available receptacles cannot handle the volume. Given the number of large parties drawn to the beach and given the access ramps, more facilities need to be added at 10th and more access to porta-potties on other beaches need to be provided, in addition to access ramps, so the crowd is more dispersed.
