Certain politicians boast proudly that they never bother to read the spouts. That is such arrogance, since, by and large, the spouts do reflect public opinion on various subjects. Citizens have a duty to be critical of decisions made by officials. No election should be allowed that does not include discussion of differing opinions in the spouts. Reporters also have a duty to question officeholders about frequent spouts.
