Stone Harbor lost no residents in the Sept. 11 attack. Sure, there were loved ones lost, sure there's a resident that owned a company that lost employees, but no resident of Stone Harbor was lost. Each family of a lost loved one received a $3 million tax free gift from the taxpayers. What about other sons and daughters who were killed in wars? What about their memorials? Do we build a Stone Harbor memorial every time someone is lost? Does every town need one? Does every island? Every county?
