I heard that the Townsends Inlet Civic Center was hit with a huge tax bill and that they are struggling to raise the funds to pay it. It would be a terrible shame if the Civic Center goes the way of so many of the older buildings in Sea Isle City. The center hosts a lot of events, most notably for children, and adds to the flavor of Townsends Inlet, which still has the old shore town feel. The town and tourism of Sea Isle benefits from the efforts of those involved with the center. Folks, let's not let another site become a parking lot with a plaque noting what was once there!
