Brilliant idea on island dept. consolidation. Why is it in the Wildwoods, we have 8 law enforcement entities represented (WCPD, WPD, NWPD, WWPD, LowerPD, MiddlePD, and NJSP), 3 beach patrols (WCBP, WBP, NWBP), 8 fire companies (WCFD, WFD, NWFD, WWFD) and 2 volunteer companies in Wildwood and North Wildwood in addition to the paid departments in each? Plus, each municipality has their own dispatcher, equipment and training standards and an overall lack of communication on the island. Time to get with the times, consolidate and be fiscally and public safety responsible.
