As a veteran, I am incensed and offended by the "Marxist" label directed at members of the Democratic Club marching in Avalon's Memorial Day parade. Our veterans fought and died for our country and democracy, not, as that misguided individual apparently thinks, for the Republican party. Not only was the parade an inappropriate place for such an ignorant comment, it was an insult to every U.S. veteran. I look to the political parties' positions on the issues to decide how to vote. A comment like that turns me off to the party condoning it. The Marxist-labeler owes an apology to all of us.
