The National Flood Insurance Program and beach replenishment should be terminated. People should not be encouraged and rewarded for living in the riskiest coastal locations. Private insurers should be free to charge whatever they want for premiums. Isn't this the Republican free market way? Taxpayers should no longer have to pay to protect the beachfront homes and businesses of millionaires. Beach replenishment and the National Flood Insurance Program are throwing tax dollars into the ocean, literally.
