As a part-time resident, I came to find my outdoor air conditioning equipment stolen in late Dec. Four other homes on our street were victimized as well. To date, no one has been brought to justice for these crimes or similar crimes that occurred in Avalon. How can it be that a fair-sized, professional, police department protecting a relatively small, out of season population can allow these crimes to happen? I know the police have a very good reputation in regard to traffic enforcement; however, my neighbors and I are very disappointed with their protection of our personal property.
