Hospitals have enough money to buy out and hire doctors and open new medical and rehab facilities that get unjustifiably greater reimbursement than private medical/rehab practices. They monopolize the market, put up new offices everywhere, putting private doctors/rehab facilities out of business. Seems donors make it easier for hospitals to squelch competition, which has always been the catalyst for fostering quality care. As donors apparently and naively help hospitals dominate the market, just watch medical costs rise and quality diminish.
