It's no surprise so many restaurants are for sale in Cape May. Cape May has priced itself out of the tourism market, especially for what you see when you arrive. Lafayette Street is the "crumbling" gateway into the city. Most of Village Green looks like a run down housing project. West Cape May looks like a third world country. The only thing Cape May has to brag about is the beach.
